The August 2003 Arkansas FireWise Home of the Month belongs to Gary and Penny Morgan of Wedington Woods, a community approximately 10 miles west of Fayetteville on Highway 16. Gary Morgan, Wedington Fire Chief, sets a good example with his award-winning Firewise home.

The home is surrounded with a "lean, clean and green" yard, and all ladder fuels have been cleared away. The home's address is also clearly marked, making it easy for emergency service personnel to find. The propane tank is also a safe distance from the home.
