The February Arkansas FireWise Home of the Month is located just outside Malvern. This beautiful home is almost perfectly Firewise. D.G. Rice and the former owners have demonstrated that Firewise homes can also be graceful, elegant and fun.

Careful application of Firewise landscaping techniques have left many trees to beautify the Rice home. However, they have been strategically spaced to provide both beauty and fire safety. Through excellent landscaping, the lawn has "lean, clean and green" defensible space. The swimming pool behind the house provides not only an opportunity for recreation, but also an emergency water supply.
