The October Arkansas FireWise Home of the Month belongs to Joe and Ruth Yeoman, and is located on Highway 270 outside of Y-City. A certificate was presented to the homeowners by Arkansas Forestry Commission officials.

The home is brick and has a fire-resistant, asphalt shingle roof. Due to the home's location, the  trees and underlying vegetation have been reduced on the slope side.

The outbuilding is separate from the main house, and the concrete driveway is more than adequate to support emergency vehicles. Nearby Mill Creek provides an emergency water supply.

The forest surrounding the Yeoman home is thinned and well-kept.
