The April 2004 Arkansas FireWise Home of the Month belongs to Wayne and Nina Hale of Murfreesboro. This home is a fine example of Firewise, and a good example of cooperation between neighboring landowners in fuel reduction.

The Hale home is located in a beautiful area, rich in trees and great landscaping. The home has a fire-resistant roof, brick siding, a metal fence, and the yard is kept lean, clean and green. A nearby pond also provides an emergency water supply.
