The home is surrounded by a lush, green lawn and the gravel driveway provides an excellent fire break. The stone siding at the base of the structure provides added protection from wind-blown embers. Also, note how the home's vents have been screened with 1/8-inch metal wire mesh. The August 2007 Arkansas FireWise Home of the Month belongs to Kevin Crossno of Paragould, and was nominated by Matt Simpson, Special Projects Forester for AFC District 3.
