Recognized Firewise Community/USA

The community of Caddo Valley became a Recognized Firewise Community/USA on Oct. 1, 2007. A luncheon and recognition ceremony was held Oct. 23, 2007 in the banquet hall of Mount Magazine State Park Lodge. Accepting a plaque presented by Governor Mike Beebe was Lt. David Suttle of the Caddo Valley Fire Department. Also pictured is Neil May, AFC Clark County Ranger III who helped the community through the Firewise Communities/USA recognition process.

The community joined the Arkansas FireWise team on March 1, 2007, during a presentation provided by David Samuel, Arkansas FireWise Coordinator. Attending the meeting were Terry Hearnsberger, fire chief; Charles Smith, assistant chief; Todd Fisher, training officer; Limon Robertson, captain; James Tate, captain; Mike Fisher, captain; David Suttle, lieutenant; Brian Rickman, firefighter; Stewart Norris, firefighter; Trent Lewis, firefighter; Clay Nutt, firefighter; Justin Kirksey, firefighter; David Narracone, firefighter; Tim Mitchell, firefighter; Roy Neil May, AFC Clark County Ranger; Roger Jones, AFC Hot Spring County Ranger and David Samuel.

 

 

 

 

 

The Caddo Valley Fire Department purchased the equipment at left with funds from the Arkansas Forestry Commission's Arkansas FireWise Mitigation Grant.
