The agenda included an overview of the Firewise Communities/USA Program and accomplishments during the last two years in Arkansas. Following a break and photo of group attending, the group was trained to conduct risk assessments on homes and structures (including cabins, visitor center and maintenance buildings at Devils Den State Park) that are at risk from wildland fire. The Board decided to have another meeting on November 29 to discuss the schedule of conducting risk assessments.
If the assessments support the need for fuel reduction as anticipated, a chipper may be the best tool to begin this reduction of fuels around homes and cabins in their fire district. |
