A 2004 mitigation grant from the Arkansas Forestry Commission through the Arkansas FireWise program allowed the Norphlet Fire Department to purchase equipment to complete mitigation projects, such as a wood chipper, leaf blower, chain saws and personal protective gear. The following year, the fire department had a FireWise Emergency Response trailer built to haul the equipment to mitigation projects. |
