Certified Firewise Community/USA

The Y-City FireWise Board was formed June 5, 2006. The community was officially certified as a Firewise Community/USA in October 2006. A luncheon and recognition ceremony was held Dec. 14, 2006 in the Garden View Room of the Clinton Presidential Library.

Attending the "Introduction to the Firewise Communities/USA Process" and Risk Assessment Training were: Albert Rogers, fire chief; Sherry Rogers, firefighter; Jennifer Shaddon, fire department president and firefighter; Joyce Miner, fire department secretary and firefighter; William "Jack" Miner, fire department safety officer and firefighter; Sally Gormady, fire department grant writer; Tim Gormady, firefighter; Dale Kenner, firefighter; William Russell, firefighter; Annetta Bilbo Cox, U.S. Forest Service-Womble Ranger District; David Yandell, AFC Ranger II, and David Samuel, Arkansas FireWise Coordinator.

Y-City FireWise Board members are Sherry Rogers, Annetta Cox, Joyce Miner, Susan Russell, Jack Miner, Randy Russell, Sally Gormady and Tim Gormady.
