Lake Catherine State Park

Lake Catherine State Park was added to the Arkansas FireWise Honor Roll in recognition of their completion of a Community Wildfire Protection Plan and work with the community of Diamondhead.

On Oct. 23, 2007, Lake Catherine State Park was recognized as an Arkansas FireWise Community during a luncheon and recognition ceremony held in the banquet hall of Mount Magazine State Park (site of FireWise on the Mountain). Accepting a plaque presented by Governor Mike Beebe were Bill Saunders, Lake Catherine State Park Superintendent, and Richard Boyes, Lake Catherine State Park.

Lake Catherine State Park is located in the Ouachita Mountains along the shore of a 1,940-acre lake. Lake Catherine is one of the popular Diamond Lakes in the Hot Springs area, and the state park features facilities constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the 1930s.
