Miller County Historical & Family Museum
The museum was established in the fall of 2003, in a building built in 1918 and used as a church. The purpose of the museum according to its curator, Frank McFerrin, is to preserve the history of Miller County. Visitors come for a variety of reasons according to McFerrin, whether it's looking for genealogical information, someone interested in local history, or an author researching information for a book. The museum includes a number of exhibits on various topics including the legendary Fouke monster, the Civil War, Arkansas license plates, medicine bottles and Indian artifacts. The Miller County Historical & Family Museum is open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday. Special tours are available by request. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted. |
