Recognized Firewise Community/USA

The Inspiration Point Firewise board was organized Dec. 2, 2003. Attending the organizational meeting were Steve Sell, Bob Britzke, Charles Weston, Joe Hayes, Jeri Hayes, Jimmy Williams, Brent Bergeson, Jim Williams, Machele Williams, Darrell Bohannon, Larry Phillips, Douglas Johnson and David Samuel, Arkansas FireWise Coordinator.

At the meeting, Firewise board members were elected. Board members were Joe Hayes, Fire Chief; Steve Sell, Fire Department board president; Jeri Hayes, firefighter; Larry Phillips, AFC Ranger II; Tom Dugger, Carroll County OES Coordinator; Ed Robertson, Carroll County Judge, and Chuck Medford, Carroll County Sheriff.

From April 16 to April 29, 2007, the Inspiration Point Firewise board cleaned an area between the Inspiration Point Fire Department and a private home. The area was heavily wooded and overgrown with brush, weeds and fallen leaves. The project took several volunteers and two bulldozers to complete. All debris was burned in a safe area under the supervision of firefighters. (2007 Mitigation Project Photos)
