  
The June 2005 Arkansas FireWise Home of the Month belongs to Morris and Tina Herrington of Crossett. The very first thing you notice about the Herrington home is the broad expanse of defensible space in the front yard. The house is visible from the street, and a wide driveway provides emergency vehicles acces to the house and its outbuildings. "Lean, clean and green" describes the lawn between deciduous trees, which are a more Firewise choice than evergreens.
