Arkansas FireWise State Park

Mount Magazine State Park has taken a number of steps to make structures within the park boundaries Firewise, and has also created a wildfire protection plan.

Prior to a July 18, 2007 meeting with the community of Paris, Arkansas FireWise Coordinator David Samuel visited with Park Superintendent Becky Bariola. They discussed the opportunity for the park to be recognized during FireWise on the Mountain.

On Oct. 23, 2007, Mount Magazine State Park was recognized as an Arkansas FireWise Community during the luncheon and recognition ceremony held in the banquet hall of Mount Magazine State Park Lodge. Accepting a plaque presented by Governor Mike Beebe are Becky Bariola, Park Superintendent, and Doug Carter, Park Ranger.
