Recognized Firewise Community/USA

The Scott County Firewise board was instrumental in developing the Firewise board for the community of Nella.

Original Scott County Firewise board members were Jim Hudgens, chair, Scott County DEM Coordinator; Doug Webb, vice chair, U.S. Forest Service District Ranger; Dewey Hatcher, secretary/treasurer, State Line VFD; Pat Ray Biggs, Boles VFD; Chris Allen, Blueball VFD; Jerry Yandell, Haletown VFD; Roy Austin, Harvey-Nola VFD; Ronnie Bowles, Hon VFD; Edward Vaughan, Highway 250 VFD; Robert Graves, Lake Hinkle VFD; Dee Parker, Nella VFD; Sam Harwell, Northeast Scott VFD; Keith Dean, Parks VFD; Joe Stearman, Waldron City VFD; Bob Ford, Waldron Rural VFD; Albert Rogers, Y-City VFD; Troy Anderson, Waldron Mayor; Buck Buford, Scott County Sheriff; Charlie Vaughan, Scott County Judge, and David Yandell, AFC County Ranger.

The Nella board was organized on June 29, 2004, and the community received Firewise Communities/USA recognition in December 2004.
