The home of Sonja Biggers, located at 5406 Smackover Highway, was selected the November 2006 Arkansas FireWise Home of the Month. David Samuel, Arkansas FireWise Coordinator, nominated the home following a trip to Union County.

The Biggers home was constructed six years ago, It is made of concrete and Styrofoam, so it can withstand a variety of natural disasters — including wildfire.

The structure is surrounded with an immense defensible space, as well as a large pond that circles halfway around the front of the home.
