The October 2003 Arkansas FireWise Home of the Month, located on Highway 270, belongs to Joe and Ruth Yeoman of Y-City. A certificate was presented to the homeowners by Arkansas Forestry Commission representatives.

The home is brick and has a fire-resistant, asphalt shingle roof. Due to the home's location, the trees and underlying vegetation have been reduced on the slope side. The forest surrounding the Yeoman home is thinned, and ladder fuels have been removed.

The outbuilding is separate from the main house, and the concrete driveway is more than adequate to support emergency vehicles. Nearby Mill Creek provides an emergency water supply.
