Recognized Firewise Community/USA

The Y-City Firewise board was formed June 5, 2006. The community was officially recognized as a Firewise Community/USA in October 2006.

Attending the Introduction to the Firewise Communities/USA recognition process and risk assessment training were Albert Rogers, fire chief; Sherry Rogers, Jennifer Shaddon, fire department president; Joyce Miner, secretary; William "Jack" Miner, safety officer; Sally Gormandy, grant writer; Tim Gormandy, Dale Kenner, William Russell, Annetta Cox, U.S. Forest Service, Womble Ranger District; David Yandell, AFC Ranger II, and David Samuel, Arkansas FireWise Coordinator.

Y-City Firewise board members are Sherry Rogers, Annetta Cox, Joyce Miner, Susan Russell, Jack Miner, Randy Russell, Sally Gormandy and Tim Gormandy.
