Bob Z: Fisherman With a Purpose
Red bar

Bob Zielinske is the District Forester in District 3, famous for "catching the big one" and hosting the best fish fry this side of the Big Muddy. This time, though, he is putting his fishing skills to another good use.

What is the noble cause? A Fallen Firefighter’s Memorial is being built at the Arkansas capitol, and all proceeds will go toward that worthy project. The tickets are $2.00 each, or 6 for $10.00, and the drawing will be January 5, 2004.

To buy tickets, you can send a check or money order made out to: Arkansas Fallen Firefighters Memorial.

Send to: Bob Zielinske, PO Box 468, Forrest City, AR 72335. Be sure to include your name, address, and phone number. Bob can be reached at 870-633-6693 or by email at [email protected]

Other donations can be made to: Jim Gates, Sec/Treas, Arkansas Fallen Firefighters Memorial Board, 403 Carmen Drive, Walnut Ridge, AR 72476.

Yes, fighting wildfire and preventing wildfire is what most of our lives are about, but sometimes we need to move just a little beyond the strictest definitions. Sometimes we need to pause for a moment to contribute to a good cause. If that contribution can be fun, so much the better!

Bob Zielinske, District 3 Forester for the Arkansas Forestry Commission, is doing just that. As the poster shows, Bob Z is selling raffle tickets to a full day of fishing on the St. Francis or Mississippi Rivers, complete with bait, tackle, and instruction from “The Master.” Bob will share some secret fishing spots where the big ones lurk, and will even clean your fish for you when you catch them.
